This past Saturday I watched the movie Suffragette at the home of friends. I found the story of Britain’s fight for the women to vote (before our US women) very compelling as well as upsetting. To think that women were imprisoned for the right to vote seems ludicrous now, but watching the movie made me appreciate what we have accomplished as women. Here is the official site Home Page from womenshistorymonth.gov.

  1. Thank you for great info. Imagine going to jail for wanting to vote! Talk about discrimination!

  2. Thanks for all the pertinent information in the March for Women’s Rights. Women have largely stood
in the ranks of Peace and Justice. In Ireland, they were largely responsible for the end of the fighting.
In many cases, in the War for Independence, they stood by their men or as Barbara Fritchie stood staunchly against the British with an American flag unfurled.
