Women’s Voices for Change has an interesting article about American women serving in hospitals during WWI as part of American History Month. Here’s the intro & link:

When will Hollywood studios finally get around to making a movie about the courageous women physicians, nurses, dentists, ambulance drivers, and aides who battled sexism at home and disease overseas in war-ravaged Europe? The American Women’s Hospitals and their early leaders, Rosalie Slaughter Morton and Esther Pohl Lovejoy, are awaiting their turn on the silver screen.  This is the centenary of World War I; 1917 is the centenary of America’s entrance into that war.
