Last night’s snacks: One slice of cheese after dinner, tea & GF toast later and then a small glass of my Green Smoothie.
BUT– I woke up at 2:30 a.m. and could not fall back to sleep, so I decided to bake one of the recipes from a new book I am reviewing on acid-alkaline balance which will be part of the weekend series I am doing on Food Plans. So I tasted the cake (good!), had some tea & another shot of my Green Smoothie.

7:30 a.m.-Going on the road today with my husband (for business) so I want a fairly hardy breakfast. I made a grilled cheese sandwich with my GF bread. Also, a cup on Dandy Blend.
9:30 a.m. and while on the road had an organic apple and some of my Green Smoothie.
1 p.m. Went to a neat Middle Eastern restaurant on the way back from the business trip and had their special, which is a choice of any 3 of the many salads: beets, lentil & cucumber/tomato salads & splurged on a small piece of halvah, a dessert made from sesame tahini &sweetener.
6:30 p.m.In tracking my portions of proteins, carbs & fats I am low on protein according to the formula from my chiropractor who is also a nutrition counselor. He recommends 30% Protein, 45% Carbs & 25% Fats. I need to up my protein, lower my fats & carbs in order to stay within the 1700-2200 calorie range. The low figure is with little physical activity, while the higher number is for moderate phys. activity and I probably somewhere between the two, so up to 2,000 calories is my goal.

So, for dinner I had smoked white fish and salad and a green vegetable (kale) & will post my snack tomorrow. I am now a “vegequarian,” as my daughter in Calif. calls herself, because I have added an occasional fish dish back to my basic veg. diet. I am not really a lover of fish or seafood, but smoked whitefish fills the bill since it is already prepared & I can decide at the last moment to pump up my protein portion for the day.
