Yesterday I posted my article on our Winter Solstice Soiree this past Saturday. (link: https://www.menupause.info/archives/19917) What I forgot to put at the end of the article is that at the party we put out a box for non-perishable foods and a basket for donations to MANNA, a Philadelphia organization where I used to volunteer to pack healthy meals for critically ill people. I had noted this on the invitation so guests would know to bring something.

I dropped off the box of food on Monday to a local food bank and am sending a check today to MANNA for the financial donations. Thanks to all who gave.

This is the time of year when many organizations ask for money. So while you are shopping for gifts, visiting family, or just reviewing this past year of ups and downs, think about giving to your favorite organizations(s). I give very small amounts because I have a limited discretionary budget, but I learned from my volunteer efforts in The Hunger Project, MANNA, etc., there is always someone or some cause in need. Charity does begin at home, so do not neglect your health and well-being at the expense of others, but if you can, put aside change or a few dollars each month to donate. It is a privilege to help others, because that means you have the funds to do so.

♥♥♥♥The gift of giving from the heart to those less fortunate or to a humanitarian/environmental cause you believe in is a wonderful way to make the holidays extra-special!♥♥♥♥
