Rosie the Riveter Impersonator

DSCN6609The other day I wrote about Rosie the Riveter Day at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, CA, that we visited while on vacation in California. (Here’s the internal link from that post: https://www.menupause.info/archives/19201)

So yesterday, on Rosie the Riveter Day, I asked my husband to take a photo of me in the Rosie the Riveter Day garb: red polka dot bandana, red socks, and navy shirt and pants, symbols of what the women wore when working in the WWII factories.

The only flaw are my sneakers. I did not have black work shoes. My bad!

Here’s the postcard from the rally (posted earlier this week). Any resemblance??? She looks a lot tougher than me—-and younger, but it’s the thought that counts!

P.S. My classmate and “resident poet” posted this comment that I wanted to put on the site itself. I love it!

I remember my sister-in-law’s mother, who could do seven push-ups into her her seventies if not eighties, so we have to believe she had a great deal of muscle strength. The men laughed when she did it then, today, they make a fuss over my pull-ups on the bar. How times change!
