February: Heart Healthy Month & Taking Time for Love

February is usually a dreary month in the Northeast, with lots of cold weather and often snow-filled days and nights. One way to boost your mood is to take time to write to people you love—- whether a relative, a friend, or a sweetheart. The lost art of letter writing makes me sad, so I still write letters and send greeting cards to those I care about.

This month is also Healthy Heart Month, so the emphasis will be on food, exercise, and a positive attitude to keep you healthy. I truly believe that food and mood are linked and that it isn’t so much what you eating, but rather what you are NOT eating that matters.

I am also reading an interesting book called Love Hurts and will review it during February.

I will also post another update for progress on Cherie Goren’s book, A Time to Keep. With International Holocaust Memorial Day just at the end of last month, I think her book is very timely. Will keep you posted.

Recipe-wise, I am experimenting with freeze-dried fruit that I tasted in November when we visited my son in November, right before Thanksgiving. Here’s the strawberry chia pudding picture. Recipe coming….

Thanks for reading me! Comments always welcome….
