Spring Fling

April is National Poetry Month as well as the first full month of Spring, despite the snow earlier this month in Philadelphia and elsewhere. This month is also  Earth Day with all the concern about bees & butterflies and climate change. So I thought I’d multi-task and post a spring rhyme with spring flower photos and saving the bees & butterflies. ES

Spring Fling

Mother Nature’s quite confused—

snow in April: Spring diffused.

Still the flowers continue to bloom
sweeping the grass like a colorful broom.

Wind or rain or snow on the wing
can’t stop Nature’s welcome to Spring.

So protect the bees and butterflies
to preserve the flowers beneath blue skies.

Wonderful way to begin our day with a flowery passageway! Longword’s had a rough time of it this year,
the initial warmth which sent the buds bursting, then the frigid cold which was so despairing,
but the Gardeners never give up, my daughter is one of them and they have planted new bulbs.
