My P.I.C. for April is a DVD that many of you may have already seen on television. See my comments below.

Last December my husband and I received a wonderful gift from my husband’s son Jay and his partner Ignacio. It is the eight part DVD series by the British Broadcasting company called simply Planet Earth. This wonderful series covers everything from the poles to the deserts to caves to how we can save species and live together in harmony on the planet.

The narrator, David Attenborough, has this to say about the series:

This new series is more a celebration of the planet, not a lament about the state of it. It shows what is still there. in some areas, there is no doubt we are doing damage to our world, but, at the same time, there is a vast amount of uncharted and untouched wilderness. This landmark series takes viewers to the world’s highest peaks, deepest caves and most remote deserts. The footage is simply without parallel.

This DVD makes a great gift for Earth Day to yourself or to family and friends. It does have spectacular footage and the extra footage on how the crew was able to get such great shots makes for interesting viewing. It’s a worthy addition to your DVD collection.
