Philadelphia Flower Show

I was planning to call this Think Spring! But the weather was so warm this week that we actually had our first taste of Spring. Nevertheless, the flowers from this year’s flower show at the expanded Convention Center are worth posting.  Enjoy!

These totems were near the entrance to enhance the Hawaiian theme of the Flower Show.

There were many displays of orchids, which grow in tropical climates such as Hawaii.

This raving red flower display caught my eye.

I call this a sunshine display.

There were several window box displays; this is just one.

Several displays featured ways to garden, such as this cold frame display.

This reminded me of the summer gardens in my neighborhood.

Here are some cascading Orchids. Just lovely!

The tulips were glorious!

Every year there are terrariums in lovely display cases, such as this one.

This “dress form” was garnished with greens & flowers. Unique!

I call this a polka dot plant.

There were quite a few bonsai displays that were back lit to emphasize the miniature plants.

There were several giant “pineapple flowers” such as this huge display.

Another lovely field of spring flowers

A clever way to display many small plants.

Each orchid display was beautiful!

A preview of what Spring will bring outdoors: azaleas, azaleas, azaleas!

  1. Thank you for sharing beautiful photos of the flowers at the PHilly show. I was unable to go this year. So I appreciate the opp. to see some of the displays.
