Deadline September 8th: Stop Monsanto and Dow’s New Toxic GMO Chemical Cocktail – Say NO to Agent Orange and Roundup GMOs!

Dear Carolyn,

Right now GMOs are failing in farmers’ fields around the world and Monsanto, Dow Chemical and the GMO pushers are getting desperate to hide these facts. Even worse, they’re counting on the Obama administration to approve a new line of GMO corn and soybeans created by Dow Chemical called “Enlist Duo” that are genetically engineered to resist the toxic chemicals 2,4-D and glyphosate, the main chemical in Monsanto’s best selling weedkiller Roundup.

Last month, the USDA signaled that it will move forward to approve Dow’s new 2,4-D and Roundup ready GMO corn and soybeans despite the fact that Dow’s new crops will cause the use of 2,4-D to skyrocket from 26 million pounds to 176 million pounds.

Tell the USDA and President Obama to reject Monsanto Dow Chemical’s new toxic Agent Orange GMO crops! Every voice counts!

Already, superweeds have spread across the U.S., choking farmers’ profits, even forcing farmers out of business. Instead of rethinking the deeply flawed model of genetically engineering crops to tolerate the application of weedkillers, the biotech industry and U.S. government are getting ready to approve a whole new generation of GMOs that will lead to an explosion of more toxic chemicals being sprayed on farmers’ fields and our food.

Besides a new generation of flawed GMO crops, if the Obama administration and the USDA approve Dow Chemical’s new Enlist Duo GMO crops, the use of these toxic weedkillers will skyrocket in America.

2,4-D’s Toxic Legacy, Cancer, Parkinson’s and the Poisoning of America’s Veterans

As half the chemical equation of the Vietnam era defoliant Agent Orange, which was sprayed across southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, 2,4-D’s toxic legacy is well known to scientists across the globe.

In the past 30 years, repeated scientific studies have found that 2,4-D has been linked to serious risks to the environment and human health, including birth defects, hormone disruption, reproductive failure, cancer and Parkinson’s disease.

Act today to stop Monsanto and Dow Chemical’s new toxic Agent Orange GMO crops!

Monsanto’s Roundup, Creating Superweeds, Killing Butterflies and Raising Serious Health Concerns

In less than 2 decades, the overuse of Monsanto’s number one selling weedkiller Roundup has created a dangerous scenario for America’s farmers. With the rise of superweeds across more than 70 million acres of U.S. farmland, farmers have been faced with the loss of crop yields by 50 to 70% in some fields, forced to spend millions of dollars, resorting to hand weeding, and even plowing under some fields when the assault of superweeds became too advanced.

Every year, more than 200 million pounds of Monsanto’s toxic weedkiller Roundup are sprayed on more than 160 million acres of GMO corn and soybean fields across America. Planting Monsanto’s GMOs resistant to Roundup on such a massive scale has wiped out more than 80% of the native milkweed across the Midwest, which has been attributed to the plumetting population of Monarch butterflies to alarming levels.

The problem with Roundup is that it doesn’t just spawn superweeds and kill butterflies, but the fact that an increasing number of studies have shown that Roundup is linked to serious human health problems including birth defects, infertility, allergies, liver disease and auto-immune disorders.

Rather than invest in more productive methods of food production, like organic and sustainable agriculture, the Obama administration is considering doubling down on the new toxic GMO chemical cocktail being offered by Dow Chemical’s new Enlist GMO corn and soy.

Tell the USDA and President Obama to reject Monsanto and Dow Chemical’s new toxic 2,4-D and Roundup Ready GMO crops! Every voice counts!

Remember, democracy is like a muscle, either use it or lose it!

  1. When we over-react instead of work with Nature, we create bomb shells that burst into the
scene posing health risks and disrupting our lives. When chemical companies orchestrate
the way a farmer grows his crops, you’re looking at forever changing the landscape,
poisoning the earth and all who dwell within it, all animal life and plant life too. It takes
sometimes centuries to undo what has been done, if you consider the chemicals that eroded
from the mines destroying the land and polluting the streams.
