Georgette DuBois is the owner of The Yoga Garden, where I take classes on an occasional basis. Recently, she made the decision to sell the Yoga Garden and move on to other projects.  When she opened The Yoga Garden 15 years ago, she did it as a leap of faith, leaving her job and plunging into entrepreneurship…and succeeding. This poem inspired her to make the leap. I was so moved by this poem that I asked for her permission to reprint it. When going through divorce, we often feel we have put our lives on hold. This encourages us to move forward, which we all must do, so I am printing this with the hope it will inspire you as it did Georgette (and me!)

I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid, more accessible,
to loosen my heart until it becomes
a wing, a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my insignificance,
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes on to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.
