Haikus from Eileen Abrams

Here are some haikus that evoke the end of winter and beginning of spring from Creative Writing “classmate” Eileen Abrams. Short & Delightful!

One- (7-7-7 syllables, 5-7-5 syllables)
Saw spot of red by window
While in dark place this morning
Cardinal came to visit!

Cardinal cheer
Best morning tonic ever!
Ruby-colored joy
Two- (5-7-5 syllables)
As twilight deepens
Stark beauty of bare branches
Against slate-blue sky
Still, like sentinels
Evoking awe and wonder
These skeleton trees
