Thanksgiving 2020
2020 Thanksgiving — like no other!
No big family gatherings
with sister or brother.
Just you & me across the table:
avoiding crowds,
our private “stable.”
We miss our family
while staying strong; no hugs or kisses
or Black Friday throng.
On Thanksgivings past
we ate together: blending families —
a full cast!
Sure is different in 2020;
eating alone amidst
food aplenty.
Celebrating Life, despite the times.
On this hopeful note,
I close my rhyme.
I am grateful for:
T- Time to read, relax, and choose my activities for the day
H – Holding onto hope for a return to everyday activities outside the home
A – An attitude of gratitude
N – No sign of COVID in our building’s residents
K – Kindness of others
S – Simple, healthful meals
G – The gifts of friendship, family, and health
I – Internet connections for meetings (ZOOM)
V – Victory over COVID with the vaccine (Hoping!)
I – Interesting info on the environment to make a difference
N – Nature’s gifts each season
G – My “Golden Years”
Thank YOU for a year of stimulating words!
With love, -sylvia
Wishing a safe, and no doubt smaller than normal, Thanksgiving celebration to my American neighbours. Greetings from Canada’s East Coast – and the province of Nova Scotia and a faithful mask wearer.
Thanks for the blessings we have in America.
Enjoy your holidays with your loved ones!
Be well and safe!
Happy Thanksgiving!🍁🦃
