Fall Equinox Rhyme

My theme for September is Transitions. I experienced that the other day when I saw a Crepe Myrtle, still in bloom, but not full bloom right next to a tree beginning to change into its “autumn costume.” I wrote this rhyme to mark this transition from summer to fall, which is tomorrow, September 22nd, The Fall Equinox. Enjoy! â¥

Easing into the Equinox

As the crepe myrtle goes to sleep
and the leaves of summer start turning deep
reds and golds and rust
Penning these words is a must.

As the summer sunâ€s rays begin to wane in Fall
Mother Nature never ceases to enthrall.
Just a reminder that evâ€ry season has its beauty.
So enjoy autumnâ€s gift, itâ€s your “civic duty.”
