Chocolate & Magnesium

Did you ever wonder why you craved chocolate when your monthly menses was about to begin? According to Naked Chocolate by Wolfe and Shazzie, chocolate (which contains the highest level of magnesium of any known food – www.superfoods.com) seems to soothe PMS symptoms.

Superfoods also notes that “magnesium relaxes muscles builds bones, causes strong peristalsis, increases flexibility, and increases alkalinity.”

Remember, however, that pure cacao prepared without white sugar, corn syrup, and hydrogenated oils, etc. is the kind of chocolate Superfoods is referring to.
