    Your mini article must have grabbed a lot of attention. Bagels have topped the popularity chart
    with both their variety and their tastiness. I know people swear about New York Bagels for instance
    or other places where they think they have a corner on the market. Very entertaining!

    ES – I cast my vote with your culturally-simple bagel: plain Jane and Jewish. I remember this article. It’s great. What could be worse than vegetable cream cheese on a blueberry bagel for breakfast. Yuk!
    The more-varieties-the-better trend in foods is just not!!

    By the way, try to find a decent bagel in the Midwest. Forget it.

    Could not agree more! The bagel I find the most unpleasant to look at is the one for St. Patrick’s Day. Great holiday – but I do not want to eat anything green, except vegetables.

    Yes, let’s keep certain foods authentic. Another example is Hawaiian pizza with ham and pineapple.
    I don’t want to know that “pizza”.
