A Timely Rhyme

This category, Relationships, used to be a separate blog called Divorce Dayz. After blogging for a couple of years, I decided it was time to move from divorce to relationships, since I had remarried. I was single for 13 years, so marriage was a surprise. But now, after seven years, I realize that late love (the name of a book I reviewed on Divorce Dayz) can be terrific. (Our anniversary is Oct. 9th.)

Like the song, “Love’s More Wonderful the Second Time Around,” this later love has been a revelation. For all of you who are still seeking a mate, I can tell you it is never to late to fall in love. I was 65 and stunned that a man only four years older did not seek a much younger mate. Call it luck, call it fate, call it whatever you like. I call it great!

So I penned a rhyme for my husband Alan that I am sharing with you, especially those still seeking a mate. Hope it helps you seekers….
Also, I am posting two photos from our recent trip to Italy.

Happy 7th Anniversary
by ellensue
2011

Seven years have we been wed,
Together each night in our platform bed.
We sleep together like kitchen spoons,
Curling up tightly these many moons.

Married life is not a game:
More like a love song without a name.
Knitting together the yarn of Life—
You, the husband, me the wife.

This anniversary I stop to think
How the two of us became a link.
Joining our families from separate places.
Now we all have familiar faces.

My life has been blessed with you as my mate.
My heart felt warm on our very first date.
Your affection & caring is what I love dearly.
Happy Anniversary, my love; you’re perfect, well, nearly!
