This ‘n That: Autumn’s Splendor
Since Fall is my favorite season, I am using this miscellaneous category for some poetry and pictures. Feasting my eyes on the palate of Fall is something I never get tired of doing.

Autumn’s Splendor by Ellen Sue
There’s no contender to autumn’s splendor:
No starry night or birds in flight;
No blossoming Spring or birds on the wing;
No Eiffel tower or April shower;
No summer’s eve or spider’s weave;
No silver bells or sandy shells.
Fall greets the eyes with blazing fire;
Glowing treetops—higher and higher.
Falling leaves of persimmon and gold
A carpet of color—-brash & bold.
Autumn’s a flame before winter’s white;
Dazzling colors for everyone’s delight.
There’s no contender to autumn’s splendor.
I love the Fall, that’s all, that’s all.

Fall’s a flurry of color—–red, green, & gold—-
A burst of leafing—-spectacular & bold
Enjoy the season, Nature’s autumn showing
A brief-leaf display before winter’s snowing
Ah, Fall’s climax is here
And winter is near.
So take in the brilliant leaves in all their glory.
Soon enough they disappear; the end of autumn’s story.
