September is National Sewing Month: Who Knew?

I read recently that September is National Sewing Month. When I Googled the calendar for the Sept-Oct. Home Page, that “holiday” did not show up. I think that we either need more months of the year to capture all the National Something Months or just stop adding to the list. Not sure exactly why we need a National Sewing Month, but here is a website on its history:

http://www.nationalsewingmonth.org/files/media/History_of_National_Sewing_Month.pdf.

This is a perfect segue for my one-of-a-kind, made-to-order TOTE BAGS and other handmade items from fabric that I enjoy creating. I even open a new email called totecrazymama15@gmail.com.  Here are some photos of tote bags (crazy-quilted) I have already made-to-order and sold or given as gifts. To order your own tote bag (diaper, beach, shopping, yoga, etc.) please email me at my new email address in the line above or at menupause.info@gmail.com. (These are not links. Copy and paste into your email.)

If you tell your favorite colors and the size of the tote and which kind you want, I can send pictures of fabric and you can choose size, strap length, colors, monograms, etc. I also make pillows and wall hangings. Price varies from $35 to $100, depending on what you choose.

Here is my gallery of samples and totes already made and sold or given as gifts:

I made this tote for my niece who loves animal prints. The other side is plain with a pocket and her initial embroidered on it.

This is a large beach tote I made for a woman who goes to Atlantic City often. The inside is quilted with a compatible pattern.

This is a small tote I made for myself because I love giraffes.

This is a yoga bag using the double-quilted fabric similar to the beach bag above. It will accommodate a thick yoga mat.

Over-sized or average sized eyeglass cases that can be made to match a tote bag.

Again, feel free to contact me at totecrazymama15@gmail.com or menupause.info@gmail.com. Copy & paste either address in your email. And check out National Sewing Month’s website (link in first paragraph under logo)  for its history and projects.

Beautiful bags! Is that your machine? My mother had a floor model, which we traded in for a
newer Singer machine back in the 1960’s.
