Virgin Snow: A Rhyme for Winter

Yesterday was not only the first snow of 2015, it was also the first snowfall of winter, so I took an early morning photo and penned this little rhyme.

Virgin Snow

First snow is so pristine;
light and white—clothesline clean.

Ever so softly the snowflakes fall;
No sound it makes, no sound at all.

It covers the cracks & branches now bare:
flurries of white, lighter than air.

Virgin snow is a lovely scene,
especially when it’s the first for 2015.
