Clean Air Month: Read All About It!

Mother’s Day is not just about honoring  women for being moms. The article below is about moms making a difference!

Here is an essay from Women’s Voices for Change noting that this month is Clean Air Month and one mother of two sons, Dominique Browning, is co-founder and senior director of Moms Clean Air Force (MCAF).

Together for a Clean Difference

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtfully committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has” this statement was quoted by Margaret Mead. We all enjoy all the harvests of lands from food to shelter. We all enjoy the satisfaction of the vast waters of the earth but most especially we survive because of the air we all depend on. We know and we are knowledgeable what would happen if even just one of them will be badly affected by our daily activities.

MY NOTE: As women and mothers, we have always been at the forefront of important issues that affect our children, our nieces and nephews, our students, etc. This is just a reminder that because air is invisible, we tend to forget about it,until it becomes so polluted we cannot breathe.

  1. Mary-Lou Meyers Says:

Clean air and clean water, a design for all life from humans to the birds that soar above us to the
almost invisible plant and animal life that determines whether or not our waters are flourishing.
There are certain indicators we look for how prolific are the fresh water muscles and clams and the May flies We must remain stewards for the rest of our lives, noting the pollution in our area, and write about it, even though in my case, I aroused the local Factory Farms with scientific data how they were
fouling the air and water, even threatening my life. If all people responded, those that destroy what we have tried to preserve would be silenced. IT IS ONLY BY A COMBINED ASSAULT CN WE HOPE TO GIVE OUR CHILDREN THE NECESSARY ELEMENTS FOR SURVIVAL.
