End of Year Message

The holidays are upon us, whether it be Kwaanza, Christmas, Hanukkah, or just a celebration of the Solstice. Most people are busy shopping, planning meals, and generally running around to tie up loose ends (bills, holiday cards, resolutions) before the year 2006 comes to a close.

Because “Peace on Earth” is a big issue at this time of year, I decided to feature a book review on peace, instead of a cookbook. Actually, I think Deepak Chopra’s book, Peace is the Way, could be considered a recipe for peace. Also I took some liberties with the Profile (a feminist calendar) and This ‘n That featuring a birthday story, since my birthday is in December. And Kitchen Nutrition with Recipes focuses on peas, which is a play on the word peace.

I trust that as the year 2006 closes, we do have peace in the world as a goal for 2007. Our planet cannot sustain the constant devastation of wars or all the environmental toxins heaped upon it. I believe that healing ourselves, one person at a time, is the first step towards healing the planet.

I want you to know that writing my blog-turned-website since March has brought me a great deal of pleasure and has helped me stay in touch with my own health. Hopefully, the nutritional information and recipes are helping you to create a healthful lifestyle for yourself, as well. I will continue to write it, so long as I feel there are readers who feel the information is helpful.

I may not blog again until February, so I can work on my children’s book and reorganize my files for new blog articles. Therefore, I want to wish you all a happy, healthy, joyous, and peaceful holiday season and a restful January. Feel free to email me with comments or suggestions at: menupause2006@yahoo.com.
